“After the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights passed in 2013, I decided to talk with my employer about receiving overtime pay. I shared information about Bill of Rights with her and when she agreed to change our work agreement to pay me overtime, I was astonished to see her commitment to my work. This shift in our work agreement has helped us build more trust with each other; we’re working together to ensure the well being of both our families. Now every time I work overtime, I get paid for those extra hours of work and I feel that my work is truly valued.”
