“When the Bill of Rights passed in 2013, my life and the life of many other workers was transformed when we received the right to overtime under state law. Before the Bill of Rights I used to have multiple employers and worked endless hours; I did not count on a set work schedule. But now with overtime protections I have the security of stable work schedule and pay when I work overtime. After this victory we have expanded our efforts to build awareness about the dignity of our work and now we are here to ensure there is permanent overtime protections with SB1015 to reinforce the dignity of our families. Because our dignity is not provisional.”
